50 arrests for underage alcohol possession at Georgia-Florida game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – State law enforcement officials made 50 arrests for possession of alcohol by people under age 21 at Saturday's Georgia-Florida game.

Agents with the state's Alcohol Beverages and Tobacco agency were seen making arrests outside EverBank Field. On Tuesday, News4Jax learned that agents arrested 50 minors over two days in connection on alcohol charges, and two adults were arrested for providing alcoholic beverages to an underage person.

"That happens during (the) Florida-Georgia game," News4Jax crime analyst Gil Smith said on Saturday. "There are usually a few arrests that do occur. Quite often, it's alcohol-related."
