Glynn County disaster recovery center announces temporary change in hours

Election Day, Veteran's Day prompt schedule changes

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Glynn County disaster recovery center announced Saturday that it have varying office hours next week.

The center, staffed by Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Georgia Emergency Management, Homeland Security and the U.S. Small Business Administration, said the Brunswick office on Howard Coffin Park will make the following changes for next week:

Saturday, Nov. 5 -- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 6 -- closed
Monday, Nov. 7 – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (shortened day)
Tuesday, Nov. 8 -- closed (Election Day)
Wednesday, Nov. 9 -- closed
Thursday, Nov. 10 -- noon to 7 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 11 -- closed (Veteran’s Day)
Saturday, Nov. 12 – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Survivors can get help with the following services at the Glynn County disaster center:

  • Completing paperwork and checking the status of their applications.
  • Discuss the SBA’s low-interest disaster loans for homeowners, renters and businesses.
  • Meet with other federal, state and voluntary organizations for information about additional disaster assistance.
  • Understand how to appeal FEMA eligibility decisions.

Disaster recovery centers are equipped with accessibility kits that offer accommodations to meet the needs of the entire community, including people with disabilities. Survivors can visit any open recovery center, but they do not need to visit a center to register.
