JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Loved ones of Jerry Brown celebrated his life Sunday during a special church ceremony in the city's Murray Hill neighborhood.
Brown, 22, was killed in a drive-by shooting on the Northside back in January.
Brown's family and friends are keeping his name alive through prayer and a special dedication to his family.
The ceremony took place at On the Right Track worship center in Murray Hill to remember the young man they say was full of life and loved by many.
Brown was the thirteenth homicide of 2016 when he was slain. On Saturday, a 16-year-old Thomas Peterson Jr. was shot and killed on 11th Street near Myrtle Avenue, marking the 101 homicide of the year.
Family and friends of Brown are meeting again in Murray Hill to honor his memory and pray for healing among the youth of Jacksonville.
