Police: Man injured in Northwest Jacksonville drive-by shooting

Man in his 30s shot twice, taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was injured in a drive-by shooting Friday afternoon in Northwest Jacksonville about a half-mile away from the Cleveland Arms Apartments, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. 

Officers were called to investigate just after 4 p.m. to West 28th Street at Henrietta Street.

A man in his 30s was shot twice in the torso when a dark-colored sedan drove by and someone inside opened fire, police said.

He was taken to UF Health with non-life-threatening injuries. 

This marked the 14th shooting in the city this week, 10 of which have been in Northwest Jacksonville.

Sunday evening, two young women and an 11-month-old were killed and two people were injured in mass shooting in the parking lot across from the Cleveland Arms Apartments, according to JSO. 

Investigators said it is unknown whether Friday's shooting is connected to any other shootings in the area.
