Man shot, taken to hospital by good Samaritan

JSO: Driver stops along West 30th Street to pick up shooting victim

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A shooting victim was walking along West 30th Street in Moncrief Thursday when a good Samaritan stopped to pick the man up and take him to the hospital, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. 

Just before noon, a driver spotted the man in his 30s with several gunshot wounds near Wilson Street and gave him a ride to UF Health, police said.

The man has non-life-threatening injuries and is expected be OK, police said.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a gray vehicle speed off after the shooting. The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
