JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition late Thursday evening after being shot in the Moncrief area, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Officers were called about 11 p.m. to investigate reports of a shooting at the Hilltop Apartments on West 45th Street near the St. Clair Academy.

Police said they found a man in his 20s with at least one gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to UF Health in critical condition, police said.
