The clerk told police Smith walked into the store wearing sunglasses and pulled out a small caliber handgun and approached the counter. The clerk then pulled out his own gun and shot Williams, police said.

Deputies said when they arrived at the scene, they found Williams dead on the floor with a loaded handgun next to him. Deputies said the car Williams had driven to the store was still running when they arrived.

Deputies said the store has surveillance video that captured the crime.
