Police: Man struck by car on University Boulevard

Pedestrian taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was struck by a car Tuesday evening on University Boulevard, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. 

The accident was reported just after 9 p.m. and blocked all lanes of West University Boulevard at Terry Road. 

The pedestrian was taken to UF Health hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Sheriff's Office.

JSO Sgt. Adam Blinn said the driver stopped and is cooperating with police. 

Traffic homicide detectives continue to investigate.
