Man convicted in 2015 shooting of 14-year-old girl

Leroy Bostick makes a first appearance in court Friday afternoon on charges ofaggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man who shot a 14-year-old girl in the chest and tried to shoot another in the head was found guilty Wednesday of attempted murder and aggravated battery, the State Attorney’s Office said.

Leroy Bostick, 22, was found guilty of attempted murder in the second degree and aggravated battery.

In March 2015, Bostick got into an argument with a group of people on Shannon Avenue. During the argument, Bostick pulled out a gun and shot Garianna Hargrove, 14, in the chest. Bostick then put the gun to another person’s head and pulled the trigger. The gun misfired, and the person was not injured.

Bostick faces 25 years to life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of Jan. 18, 2017.
