Man hospitalized after hit-and-run on Arlington Expressway

Car that struck pedestrian found; search continues for driver


A man was taken to the hospital after he was hit Wednesday evening while walking across the Arlington Expressway near Cesery Boulevard.

Florida Highway Patrol says the man, 39-year-old Bradley Ward, was hit by a white Chevrolet Impala about 8:15 p.m. The car was driving west on the Arlington Expressway. The driver drove off after the collision. 

Ward was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with critical injuries.

Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office later found the car in a parking lot off Fort Caroline Road. Police are now trying to track down the driver.
