Teen killed in crash on Beach Boulevard at St. Johns Bluff Road

JSO says 3 others injured in crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A crash at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Thursday killed a teenager and seriously injured two other people, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

According to JSO, a 39-year-old woman driving a Nissan SUV ran a red light at high speeds and jumped the center concrete median, slammed into a Honda, then hit a commercial gasoline tanker truck and a Lexus.

The driver of the Nissan and two teenagers in the Honda were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said. Late Thursday, officials said the teen driving the Honda died of his injuries. He was identified as 18-year-old Denny Grahovic. His 16-year-old female passenger has not been identified.

The drivers of the other vehicles were uninjured, officials said. 

The crash closed down the intersection for several hours and forced traffic to be rerouted.

Authorities have not released the names of the people involved in the crash.
