JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A truck plowed into a Murray Hill home only feet from where the homeowners were sleeping early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run crash, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The homeowners said the truck sped through the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Post Street, causing the truck to drive through their neighbor’s yard. The truck then struck the corner of the neighbor’s house and crashed through the front of their home.

The homeowners said they were sleeping about three feet away from the point of impact.

The driver of the truck and a passenger fled the scene, the homeowners said.

The homeowners told News4Jax that there have been multiple cars crash into neighboring homes in the past.

The homeowners were uninjured in the crash.

Deputies have not released any information regarding the identities or whereabouts of the driver and passenger of the truck.
