FHP: School bus driver issued citation after hitting parked car

Person who parked car also gets traffic citation, troopers say

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – A school bus driver was issued a traffic citation for careless driving after hitting a parked car in an Orange Park neighborhood Wednesday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

It happened about 9 a.m. on Chestwood Chase Drive.

Esther Christman, 65, was driving the bus when it struck the left, side mirror of a Honda that was improperly parked along the west shoulder of the road, according to the FHP incident report.

There were 16 children on board the school bus at the time but no injuries were reported, troopers said.

Troopers said the person who parked the Honda was issued a traffic citation for improperly parking a vehicle.
