FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Upon completion of an investigation, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office has forwarded charges against two students concerning threats to two schools to the state attorney's office for review.
Officials began investigating two students, who were not named, after a bomb threat at Bunnell Elementary School and a detailed plan to conduct a coordinated plot against Flagler Palm Coast High School.
Deputies said the threat against the elementary school was found to have been sent from a Flagler County student school's email account but was determined to be unfounded.
However, during the bomb threat investigation, officials found what appeared to be a separate plot against Flagler Palm Coast High School.
Deputies said the students who were found to be involved were removed from class and detectives confiscated their electronic devices. After the devices were analyzed, detectives forwarded charges on one student for false reporting of a bomb and on the other student for false reporting of a bomb and written threats. Both charges are felonies.
