Troopers said following that crash, congestion on the roadway caused a 67-year-old man who was driving a Ford car to come to a stop. A 16-year-old girl in a Honda CRV behind him did not stop in time and struck the back of his car.

The FHP said a man in a van traveling behind the CRV came to a stop after the crash, but a man in a Ford Explorer behind him failed to stop and collided with the back of the van. Two people traveling inside the Explorer were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

SR 47 traffic was blocked due to the crash.

The driver of the station wagon was charged with failing to maintain a single lane and the 16-year-old girl and the man driving the Explorer were charged with careless driving.
