Police: Man shot after fight with girlfriend's ex-boyfriend

Victim expected to make full recovery

ORANGE PARK, Fla – A man was shot after a fight Sunday morning with his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend on Blairmore Boulevard in Orange Park, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.

Rike Wyche was visiting his girlfriend, Shawanna Harris and stayed the night, police said. At around 6 a.m., Harris’ ex-boyfriend Timmothy Henderson, 42,  showed up to her house and got into a fight with Wyche, police said.

At some point during the fight, Wyche was shot by Henderson, police said.

"At about 10:30, or something like that, we came out front," a neighbor said. We came out front with the dog and everything, looking around and saw the street all blocked off with police cars. Their lights weren't flashing, but it was blocked off. No traffic could get through."

Henderson was initially questioned by authorities, but later booked into the Clay County jail on charges of non-premeditated second degree murder, entering a structure or conveyance armed and ammo possessed by a convicted felon.

Wyche underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery, police said.
