Live camera expected to capture bald eagle births

NAPLES, Fla. – Live cameras trained at the nest of an active pair of bald eagles in Naples are drawing thousands of views from around the world as a pair of eggs is expected to hatch this week.

The Southwest Florida Eagle Cam, maintained for the past five years by Dick Pritchett Real Estate, provides live video stream from a camera positioned six feet above the nest, which is in a slash pine tree 60 feet above the ground.

The original adult bald eagles pair, known as Ozzie and Harriet, had been coming to this nest since 2006. After Ozzie’s passing in the early fall of 2015, Harriet & M15 bonded in late fall of 2015.

This is their second season as a mated pair at this location, where they live from October to May.
