GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A woman was attacked and robbed Thursday morning while jogging in the Haile Plantation neighborhood in Gainesville, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office said.
At around 9:30 a.m., a woman was on her morning run when she was attacked by 26-year-old Tyrice Phillips near the 9500 block of Northwest 56th Place, officials said.

The woman told police that Phillips fled on a bicycle after attacking her.
Police said they found Phillips riding a bike near the intersection of Southwest 46th Boulevard and Southwest 75th Street. Philips tried to run when police approached him, but they were able to successfully arrest him.
Authorities said that when police searched Phillips, they found the woman’s stolen belongings.
Phillips was taken to the Alachua County Jail where he was charged with robbery by sudden snatching, depriving a victim of 911, resisting arrest and battery on a law-enforcement officer.
