JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The state fire marshal is investigating a house fire on Bambi Lane on Jacksonville's Westside.

The fire was reported just after 9 p.m. near Oak Hill Elementary School in the Cedar Hills neighborhood. It was put out in about 10 minutes, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

The house was vacant and no one was injured, firefighters said.

The house appears to be intact with some damage to the ceiling inside.

The chief said there was heavy smoke coming out of the house when firefighters arrived, and they went room by room to find the source of the fire before realizing it was coming from the attic.
