JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who stole cartons of cigarettes from an Arlington convenience store last week, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The burglary happened about 2:30 a.m. Jan. 2 at the Leon Discount Foods on Leon Road, just off Atlantic Boulevard.

Police said a man wearing a camouflage jacket, red shoes and gloves forced his way into the store, went straight to the cigarette case and took Newport cigarettes from the shelves and inside drawers.

The Sheriff's Office released on Tuesday surveillance video from the store that shows the thief rushing behind the counter and then piling packages of cigarettes into a garbage can.

Anyone with information about the burglar's identity or whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
