Driver who rear-ended police cruiser charged with DUI, driving without license


ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – An officer with the St. Augustine Police Department is recovering from neck and back injuries after his patrol cruiser was rear-ended early Friday morning.

According to the police department, Corporal Miller was transported to Flagler Hospital for minor injuries about 1:04 a.m. He was in his patrol car on 601 Anastasia Blvd. writing up a crash report from a previous accident when another vehicle rear-ended his cruiser.

The driver of that vehicle was arrested for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. The driver's name was not released.

The police department said the driver and his female passenger were not injured during the crash.
