His mother, Shari George, said Jahleel was a father who had intense love for his little girl, a straight-A student in his third year of college and an all-around good person.
"It's fabulous to know that not only did he exemplify love, but to watch them giving them back -- what you see here now is the legacy he leaves," she said.
The mother said her son had so much more love to give.
Jahleel was found dead of a gunshot wound in his home on Woodcrest Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Anyone with information about his death is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
