Small plane makes emergency landing at JAX, catches fire

Jacksonville Aviation Authority says pilot OK

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A small airplane made an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon at Jacksonville International Airport after the pilot radioed the tower to say he had low oil pressure, according to airport officials.

The plane landed safely, but while it was taxiing to the hangar, a fire broke out in the engine, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority said.

The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department was called and put the fire out.

The pilot was reportedly OK.
