Man, 19, treated after being shot in chest

JSO: Man taken to hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wound


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 19-year-old man was treated after being shot in the chest Wednesday evening, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Police said the man was walking on La Marche Drive, just north of Normandy Boulevard, when he heard a gunshot and realized he had been shot in the chest. 

A family member then took the him to St. Vincent's Hospital just before 8 p.m.

The man, who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, was treated and released, police said. 

The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
