Educators of the year announced in Clay County

Michelle Bily, Robert Garcia awarded


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Michelle Bily, a fourth-grade teacher at Lakeside Elementary was named teacher of the year Tuesday night in Clay County.

Robert Garcia from Orange Park High School was awarded school-related employee of the year.

A banquet was held Tuesday night at the Thrasher-Horne Center in Orange Park. The two winners will go on to represent Clay County at statewide competitions this spring.

“I am delighted to celebrate with our peer-selected nominees, their colleagues, and families,” Superintendent Addison Davis said ahead of the event. “Our panel of judges recognized exceptional teaching practices and remarkable efforts to support our schools in our 10 finalists, and I look forward to announcing the two winners who will represent our district this year.”
