FEMA, county officials host open house discussing updated flood maps

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Federal Emergency Management Agency and St. Johns County leaders held two open houses Tuesday to discuss flood map updates with the public.

Officials and FEMA wanted to help homeowners and renters understand the updated Flood Insurance Rate maps.

The first open house was from 10 a.m. to noon and the second open house was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Community Center and Exhibition Hall in Jacksonville Beach.

The updated map showed the flood risk for Duval and St. Johns counties.

Another session is scheduled for Wednesday at the Edward Ball building on North Hogan Street from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
