Police: Missing 4-year-old Georgia girl found safe

NORCROSS, Ga. – A missing 4-year-old girl has been found safe, the Norcross, Georgia, Police Department announced Tuesday evening. 

Officials activated an Amber Alert earlier in the day after Mireida Espinoza-Lemus (pictured above left) was taken from her home on Hammon Drive by her biological mother, 30-year-old Gladis Lemus (pictured above right), according to police.

Police said the child was thought to be in extreme danger, but was later located unharmed about 8 p.m.

WSB-TV Atlanta reported that police had found the girl's mother as well.
