ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A St. Augustine man was arrested Friday on four felony charges after he started talking to an undercover detective who he thought was a young teenager, the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said.

Cameron Raddcliffe Powell, 27, is charged with attempted lewd and lascivious battery, transmitting harmful materials to a minor, unlawful use of a two-way communication device and use of a computer to seduce, solicit or lure a child.

Last week, detectives with the Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit began an investigation targeting people who use the internet to sexually exploit children.

Investigators said Powell responded to an undercover detective who he believed to be a young teenager and began a conversation.

Powell also tried to meet the "teen," and sent the detective a photo of him exposing himself, according to investigators.

The Sheriff's Office said Powell was brought in for questioning Friday morning and was then arrested. A search warrant for his cellphone was issued and the phone was taken to be searched forensically.

Powell was booked into the St. Johns County Jail on no bond pending a first appearance hearing Saturday morning.
