The man made a purchase, but when the clerk opened the cash register, he reached across the counter and took money from the register drawer, deputies said.

After taking the money, the man fled in a dark-colored SUV, according to deputies.

Deputies describe the man as white, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds. He has a mustache and long, dark hair that was pulled back in a ponytail. He has a distinctive tattoo, possibly of an eagle, on his right upper arm.

The man was seen wearing khaki shorts and no shirt when he went into the store.

The Sheriff's Office asks if anyone has any information about the man or incident to call Detective J. Anderson at 904-213-6634.
