JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After spending months on the run, a man accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a local business was arrested in Texas, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. 

Jimmy McElveen, 44, faces a second-degree felony charge of grand theft. 

According to the Sheriff's Office, McElveen was the site manager of RMC Utilities on Philips Highway.

In May, he was given $4,000 dollars to pay subcontractors at a work site, but he took off with the money instead, police said.

In addition to the cash, police said, McElveen took a piece of equipment worth $18,000. 

He was found in Henderson, Texas, but was brought to the Duval County Jail Wednesday and ordered held on $50,000 bond, according to his arrest report.
