Woman missing from gas station found, was never abducted

Jacksonville police said woman was never kidnapped

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Authorities said the woman who called them early Saturday to report her own kidnapping from a gas station on the Southside was never actually abducted.

The man who was suspected of kidnapping 25-year-old Victoria Ann-Marie Guillotte came forward to police and led detectives to where he dropped her off. Guillotte was found in the same area, officials said.

Guillotte had walked into a Gate gas station on Emerson Street near Philips Highway about 5:15 a.m. with an unknown man.

Later in the morning, police said she called them to say she had been kidnapped. Police said the last time they spoke to her over the phone was at 6:15 a.m.

Investigators said Guillotte and the man were seen leaving the gas station in a Chrysler Sebring missing the driver's side rear hubcap.

News4Jax spoke with customers at the gas station who said the news of the kidnapping worries them.

"You just got to be aware of your own safety and look for others," James Merrihew said. "And if you see it, say something about it."
