NOCATEE, Fla. – Deputies were called to investigate a report of people knocking on windows in the Waldon Chase Subdivision early Tuesday morning, and when they arrived, they heard what sounded like gunshots in the area, officials said.

Another deputy saw a silver Hyundai driving without its headlights on, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

It was about 3:45 a.m. when investigators went to look into the situation at the Waldon Chase Subdivision.

A deputy pulled over the Hyundai as the driver of the car pulled into a driveway on Hanover Lane, and that’s when several people inside took off, officials said.

Two of them were found fairly quickly in the immediate area. Connor Stout, 18, lives on Hanover Lane, deputies said. Blake Douglas Boyet, 18, is from St. Louis, Missouri. Both were arrested at the scene.

Deputies said in plain view of the pulled-over vehicle, they saw three handguns and about 100 grams of marijuana. Authorities also located several spent shell casings near the entrance to Waldon Chase.

Stout was charged with violating the term of his probation and released to
home detention. Boyet was charged with possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana, and booked into the county jail.

The registered owner of the vehicle, 19-year-old Spencer Smart, 19, was found about 11:30 a.m, walking on Ponte Vedra Boulevard. Additional charges are pending.
