Deputies search for man accused of stealing $9K necklace from Orange Park Mall


ORANGE PARK, Fla. – The Clay County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who robbed a watch repair store Sunday evening in the Orange Park Mall.

Deputies said the man entered the Watches Plus store in the mall around 5:45 p.m.

The man asked an employee to show him a chain necklace he wanted to try on and as soon as the employee handed it to him, he ran away with it, according to deputies.

The store manager and the employee ran after him. They saw the man get into a silver Nissan Altima with a North Carolina license plate EHM1014. A female driver was waiting for him in the car and they both fled, deputies said.

The chain necklace the man took was said to be worth almost $9,000.
