JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Fernandina Beach man has been charged with stealing almost $100,000 from the Jacksonville business where he worked for six years.

According to the police report, a supervisor at Abatix, which supplies safety equipment, noticed some suspicious checks had been written and started asking around.

Cashion Wright admitted it and said he’d pay it all back, the police report said.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Economic Crimes Unit found Wright had opened a secret account and was writing checks to businesses Abatix deals with, but depositing them in the secret account. He wrote 52 checks totaling $96,000, police said.

Wright has several traffic tickets but no other previous criminal history.
