Man arrested soliciting detective posing as teen online

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 39-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after talking with an undercover detective online, whom he thought was a juvenile, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to the police report, Palm Coast resident Ronald John Daniels responded to an undercover detective online who he believed to be a young teenager and began a conversation. Authorities said Daniels tried to setup a meeting and sent the detective a photo of him exposing himself.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant Monday, and Flagler County detectives found Daniels and arrested him in St. Johns County the following day.

Daniels is charged with use of computer to seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child or person believed to be a child, to commit an unlawful sexual act with a child, transmit harmful materials to a minor and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

Daniels is being held on a $75,000 bond.
