JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man and woman are in jail, and another is in the hospital after an attempted robbery scheme went wrong on the Westside, police said.
Alicia Willis, 18, and Paul Pettigrew, 22, were both arrested on a charge of armed robbery, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Police said Willis approached a man and offered to prostitute herself at a Burger King on Normandy Boulevard.
When Willis got in the car, police said, that's when Pettigrew and another man tried to rob him.
But the victim decided to speed off, running over that second man in the process, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The driver got away and called police.
Officers said the suspects were caught when they were taking their accomplice to the emergency room for help. He has not yet been charged.
