Man rescued from St. Johns River

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was rescued Thursday from the St. Johns River near the Jacksonville Landing downtown, the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department said. 

It happened just before 5 p.m.

JFRD spokesman Tom Francis said it was unknown why the man was in the water or whether he had to be taken to a hospital.
