GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 28-year-old man is accused of leading Gainesville police on a chase in which authorities say he attempted to bury marijuana, cocaine and Ecstasy near the University of Florida football stadium.

Police said Jamard Baker climbed from the back seat into the driver’s seat after a traffic stop on Friday morning and drove off. Police said Baker drove onto the University of Florida campus, where police ended their chase.

The vehicle was later found parked and abandoned near Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and Baker was found hiding in a nearby bush, attempting to bury two bags of drugs, including 52.2 grams of marijuana, .75 grams of cocaine and 1.17 grams of Ecstasy, police said.

Baker’s license had been revoked as a habitual traffic offender. He is charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of cannabis with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance.
