JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was injured Saturday when he said he was forced to swerve into a ditch to avoid crashing into another driver near the intersection of St. Augustine Road and Wright Avenue.
According to the man, he was driving northbound on St. Augustine Road going around a curve when another driver pulled out in front of him. To avoid crashing into the other driver, he swerved and went into a drainage ditch.
“When I came around the corner, he stepped out,” the injured man said. “As I slowed down, he (the other driver) kept switching lanes -- I was in middle lane. He went to switch back up, and decided he was going to go across (the) lane. By that time, I was going to that lane to avoid him.”
The man who was injured said the driver of the other car drove away and never returned.
“I wish the other guy hadn't left so we could get his side of the story,” the man said.
