Police: Dispute between mother, son leads to meth lab investigation

JSO bomb squad, detectives called to Westside home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A dispute between a mother and her teenage son led to a meth lab investigation at a Westside home Friday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. 

Officers were called about 6:30 p.m. to a home on Sierra Drive after the mother said she found strange chemicals and suspected her 17-year-old was producing drugs.

Police said they discovered what appeared to be components of a homemade meth lab in the kitchen, and questioned the teenager. 

The JSO bomb squad and detectives were called to investigate, but no neighboring homes had to be evacuated.
