YULEE, Fla. – An elementary school in Nassau County was on lockdown Friday morning because two robbery suspects were being sought in the area, the sheriff's office said.
Yulee Primary School was on lockdown for about an hour, starting at 9:15 a.m. The students were safe inside the school, but no one was allowed in or out of the school until the lockdown was lifted.
Parents were notified of the lockdown by an automated phone call from the principal.
The suspects are accused of robbing Pine Forest Motel at the corner of Pages Dairy Road and U.S. 17. The manager called police and said two men took off with money.
The sheriff said the men might be armed but that hasn't been confirmed.
The school is less than a mile away off Goodbread Circle.
