BALDWIN, Fla. – A man was injured Saturday evening in a fiery crash that closed all lanes of Interstate 10 near U.S. Highway 301 for nearly an hour.
The crash happened at about 6:00 p.m. It closed both westbound and eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 for about an hour. Eastbound lanes remained closed until just before 9 p.m.
Gary Chidester, 64, was traveling west in a Dodge 1500 pickup-truck when he collided with a Ford pickup-truck driven by 33-year-old Tony Crawford.
The crash sent clouds of black smoke billowing into the air.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Chidester suffered minor injuries. The extent of his injuries is unclear. Crawford was not hurt.
