Police: Man shot in back, buttocks after dispute in NW Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot after a dispute became violent Thursday night in Northwest Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Police responded to West 5th Street just before 8 p.m. in reference to a person shot.

A man was found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his back and buttocks, police said.

Police said the man was involved in a dispute with an unknown individual, who then pulled out a firearm and shot the man.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment, police said.

Detectives with the Investigations Division continue to look into the incident.
