JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man has serious injuries after he was hit by a car in the Spring Park neighborhood Monday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
The man was walking across Emerson Street, just south of Beach Boulevard, about 8 p.m. when he was struck by a car traveling southbound, said JSO Sgt. Frederick Dash.

He was taken to UF Health with life-threatening injuries.
Dash said the driver stopped and is cooperating with police.
All lanes of Emerson Street were shut down until just before midnight as Traffic Homicide Detectives investigated.
