Recently released sex offender who failed to register arrested in Nassau County

St. Johns County obtained a warrat for Richard Louis Orzechowski, 58

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 58-year-old man who failed to register as a sex offender after he was released from prison last month was arrested Monday in Nassau County.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said Richard Louis Orzechowski was released Feb.27 from the Department of Corrections after serving one year on a conviction for a lewd and lascivious charge.

Deputies said Orzechowski had 48 hours to register as a sex offender, but had not done so. A warrant was issued for his arrest Friday on a charge of failure of a sex offender to properly register.

Deputies said he was picked up by the Nassau County Sheriff's Office on the St. Johns County warrant.
