JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University is on its way toward developing a Downtown campus.  It will be in the SunTrust Tower.

The Arlington-based university will set up classes on the 18th floor of the tower at 76 S. Laura St.

There will be four classrooms, offices, conference space, collaboration rooms, open cubicles, IT workspace and a kitchen.

The move Downtown now is for graduate programs in the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences, said JU spokesman Phillip Milano.

Milano added there are ongoing discussions about offering graduate programs at the Downtown campus by the Davis College of Business.

30 faculty and staff members would provide undergraduate and post-graduate courses to about 100 students taking day and evening classes.

This move Downtown has been on JU’s agenda for the past two years.
