JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man was sentenced Thursday to seven years and three months in federal prison for receiving sexual abuse videos of a child over the internet.
According to the Department of Justice, during an execution of a search warrant on Sept. 30, Richard Daniel Lord, 58, admitted during an interview with FBI agents that he had used his cellphone to search for, download and view child pornography.
The DOJ said Lord told agents he was mostly interested in images of children between 10 and 12 years old and that he "constantly" searched for the child porn and could not control himself.
A forensic examination of Lord's cellphone showed he had downloaded six videos depicting prepubescent children being sexually abused, the DOJ said.
In addition to his prison sentence, Lord was ordered to serve a life term of supervision and to register as a sex offender upon his prison release.
