Man faces federal charges for harrassment, threats on Facebook, DOJ says

Maryland man to be sent to Florida for court proceedings

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Maryland man is facing federal charges of cyberstalking and sending threatening communications over the internet.

The Department of Justice said Seyed Ali Soroushjou, 36, was arrested Friday at his home in Cockeysville, Maryland, but will be sent to Jacksonville for court proceedings.

Court documents say Soroushjou harassed a person in Florida on Facebook and sent a Facebook message threatening sexual assault.

If convicted, Soroushjou faces up to 10 years in prison.
