Deputies: Teen, elderly woman hit in separate crashes at same intersection

Both pedestrians taken to hospital with minor injuries


CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A teenage boy and an elderly woman were hit Tuesday evening in separate crashes at the same intersection, the Clay County Sheriff's Office said.

Just after 8 p.m., deputies said, a teen was riding his bike on the crosswalk across Blanding Boulevard at Knight Boxx Road when he was struck by a vehicle. 

He was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center with minor injuries. 

Less than an hour later, an elderly woman was crossing Knight Boxx Road at Blanding Boulevard when she was hit by a vehicle, deputies said.

She was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Deputies said both the teen and the woman were on the crosswalk when they were hit.
