JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 27-year-old woman was arrested Thursday after she hit her son with a spatula three times in the face while disciplining him, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Janai Mitchell is charged with child abuse.

The Department of Children and Families began investigating after it was notified about the case through the DCF hotline.
The child suffered cuts on his face and was taken to a doctor by his father when he saw his son's injuries, according to the police report.
Mitchell was booked into the Duval County Jail and ordered held on $10,000 bond.
